JW McDonald Building Services have just finished work on a bathroom refurbishment in Bromley BR2, Kent.
The bathroom was quite big in a medium size house and the bathroom was upstairs on the first floor. The bathroom was about 3 meters by 3 meters.
The client wanted a full bathroom refurbishment which consisted of a new shower with it’s own enclosure, stand alone bath, double sinks and old Victorian style radiator. They also wanted the stand alone in line with the bath against the main wall to the right hand side as you walk through the door.
When installing a stand alone bath I have some advice for your bathroom Installation or refurbishment to make life a bit easier and hopefully save you some money.
1) Make sure the floor is level and if the floor is out of level where the bath is being installed check to see if this can be corrected.
2) The problem we had was that the floor was out leave by 40mm so there was no way to make up this amount level difference. If this is the case buy a stand alone bath with it’s own built in bath legs. This will help with an uneven floor and save you money on correcting the issue of any major floor leveling.
3) The next tip I will give you is try to buy a standalone bath with its own built in bath over flow. This will save your installer the aggravation of trying to install it and if it’s not installed properly it could leak later on.
