We enlisted Justin’s services to renovate our bathroom and install a ground floor toilet.

The project was initially estimated to take around 3 weeks. However, as soon as the old tiles and units were removed, we discovered many “gremlins” hidden beneath (not literal gremlins, just bad workmanship and dodgy decisions taken by the previous builder). This, plus some bad calculations on my part when ordering tiles meant the project overran by 2 weeks, taking a total of 5 weeks to complete.

Justin was friendly and explained everything throughout, giving us options depending on how much extra we wanted to spend. I trusted Justin to just get on with the work and gave him the keys to the house so he could let himself in and out. He even gave me free advice on various other issues I was having with the house, which meant that I could take care of them myself.

Justin worked diligently to complete our kitchen remodel over the course of 2 months. The kitchen was designed and suppliers by Wren kitchens and he was able to tackle challenges easily, identifying any ‘work arounds’ needed that had been overlooked as part of the kitchen design.

Justin was extremely clean and tidy, making sure all relevant surfaces were covered and cleaned up after each day. He would always explain what he was doing and why, giving options before any changes or additional work was needed. He was extremely friendly and addressed any snags quickly.

The project took longer than expected but overall we’ve been very happy with the work undertaken on our new kitchen and all of the associated works.

Justin recently handled a bathroom renovation project for us, in which we had the bathroom re-tiled, and everything reinstalled, with a new basin & vanity, a new bath, a new toilet & a few other things. The flat was built for quite a long time now, and when we removed the tiles & everything, we uncovered lots of issues with the wall & pipes. Whenever there was an issue, Justin thoroughly explained it, and could always explain to me how to best deal with these issues. The project was finished after one month, and we are really happy with the quality of the job. Overall I would highly recommend Justin for other jobs

JW McDonald Building Services carried out the complete installation of my new Benchmarx kitchen, including a substantial amount of enabling works (e.g. re-wiring, new structural floor, re-rendering and plastering).

I am a chartered surveyor and have carried out a number of major DIY projects myself – so I was very anxious to maintain quality in choosing a contractor – but I can truly say that Justin and his team exceeded my expectations. They were professional and thorough, and went out of their way to make sure that job was done intelligently and diligently. They were friendly and considerate. Justin always communicated options and concerns quickly, and explained his proposed solution to each challenge, so that I gained complete confidence in his approach.

Justin have created a fantastic new kitchen for us. The project was complex and included asbestos removal, rewiring, bespoke carpentry and installing a high spec kitchen. Every single one of Justin’s trades people were great. The fitting of the units and the bespoke carpentry was crucial and the carpenter/fitter was fab, really skilled and made sure I was consulted every step of the way. When challenges arose, as they always do, Justin dealt with them swiftly in a calm way. He cares, he is competent, he is completely transparent about every aspect of the process.
